"Synchronicities" exist ONLY for a given individual at a given moment. So, "it is in the subjectivity of the individual that the object exists, and nowhere else."
There is no "synchronicity" except for the person who "perceives" it. It "ex-ists" and "ob-jectifies" itself only in the sense that it is distinguished from the subjectivity that recognizes it. However, it exists ONLY through this subjectivity.
This subjectivity creates it.
You grasp the difficulties encountered here through the use of standardized formulas to describe something that is, without being...
Take a few seconds to assimilate this fact completely.
Now observe:
How is "synchronicity" defined?
You know that it only expresses a connection of a priori acausal events through a relation of MEANING. The events have meaning only for the individual who perceives them.
Meaning is produced only by and for a subjectivity, and only one.
To the question: "What generates these synchronicities?".
The answer is simple: It is "you" who generate them, in the sense that it is "you" who are for the most part under the yoke of unconscious influences. And yet, as you rightly guess, the unconscious does not "know time".
Didactic examples will follow, but analyse the concepts described carefully: It is essential to consider the metaphorical existence of "RESONANCES" BETWEEN THE DEGREES OF FREEDOM IN A SYSTEM. This is a fundamental element. The concept of resonance, in physics, characterizes a relation between FREQUENCIES. In particular, resonance appears when two frequencies correspond to a simple numerical ratio in which one of the frequencies is an integer multiple of the other. Resonances lead to a coupling between events (think of the coupling between two sounds). The phenomenon is well known to musicians, together with harmonics.
Synchronicities are neither more nor less than a singular form of coupling.
The different cascades of events in a life represent "degrees of freedom" of a holistic system. The birth of a child, the announcement of bad news, a financial transaction, the dancing of a poppy petal in the summer breeze,... All these events could be represented in what physicists call the "phase space" of these systems. They may be causally related to one another and therefore fit into the same common phase space, but in this case there is NO "resonance coupling".
Coupling requires a "SYNCHRONOUS" resonance between these events (forgive this new abuse of language).
How can elements that are not causally related "link up" synchronously? - only because subjectivity gives them meaning.
At what point do "synchronicities" come so close to the phenomenon of "pareidolia" so familiar to the most sceptical? Simply in that, as in a pareidolia, the mind makes an UNCONSCIOUS SELECTION of the different elements that express the phenomenon of "synchronicity".
Golden beetles fly and bump into windows every day all over the world, just as such and such words are spoken, such and such images are seen, such and such misadventures or insignificant dangers are met with. The individual is immersed in an environment full of acausal events, but in certain circumstances, you would say "under certain influences", which are truly beyond him, he will have the illusion of experiencing a "synchronicity". In reality, you understand that it is nothing but a pure creation of his mind. The "resonance coupling" of the different elements occurs only by and for the subject.
This feeling, usually charged with a strong emotional tone, will often be interpreted as a "message". This is partly true, since it almost always comes from the deep layers of the unconscious. The latter then exerts a subtle but intense influence on the threshold of "receptivity" of the individual, who becomes particularly sensitive to certain stimuli of strong symbolic value.
When the message is embodied in a particularly striking form, a specific pattern, a singular structure of meaning - you would say of "archetypes" - then it can be extremely powerful.
_________
A wise reader suggests that it is necessary to clarify the aetiology of the unsettling subjective impressions of the "influence of the mind" on one's own environment in the framework of "synchronicities":
In reality, the very low probability of certain events occurring - or a combination of contingencies close in time - is part of this illusion. Is it truly pure "chance"? Has the mind not modified its reality through some mysterious force?
To understand this fact, it is necessary to resituate the notions of "soul" or "consciousness", whose explanatory frameworks have already been developed elsewhere: the Self "suffers" the flow of time where Consciousness is content to BE.
Do not forget that the soul is the compass of what some call "destiny".
Does chance exist in such a case? The answer must be "neither yes nor no".
We must take up again what has been expressed elsewhere:
Every event of life is a "break of equilibrium".
The instability of the global system offers a range of changes tending towards an incalculable number of possibilities; this reflects a complexity that is itself infinite, and which you can imagine as a vast network of bifurcations whose nodes embody the presence of diverse events.
Imagine then a representation of all the changes of state of an individual during his life. Suppose you draw a "branch" at each occurrence of a new event that causes the individual to fall into a new state of equilibrium. For example, a person who works for forty years in the same company (stable state) may one day be dismissed (occurrence) and change jobs (new state). Or you can imagine someone contemplating a landscape and then suddenly stopping their activity because of rainfall. Or a person speaking when another abruptly cuts them off, etc.
Understand that you meet these bifurcations at all levels, that is, on different time scales. The state of instability can therefore be found on the scale of a whole life (work, family, physical health, etc.), but also on a very small scale (the need to eat, meeting two friends, a speck of dust brushing the cornea, etc.). Finally, you will notice changes of state that lead to other changes of state, like the cascades of bifurcations observed in the patterns of stochastic systems, nesting into one another. These are schemes that embody a fabulous complexity through a fractal structure.
Now visualize the fantastic scene in which an imaginary character could, at the end of his life, turn around and contemplate the long and infinitely winding path he would have taken through those countless bifurcations, most of which seem to be mere contingencies. To do this, he would have to gain a little height (that is, orient the "time" vector orthogonally to the physical axis). This imaginary tortuous path is another representation of the decisions taken by the individual throughout his whole life. This path materializes each choice, each influence and each change of the thinking being. Of course, while travelling this path, the real/physical individual is unable to predict precisely which path he will take at the next moment (unpredictability); however, by "gaining height", this imaginary character can contemplate the journey he has made and understand how he got here (causality). One can also guess that the route chosen could have been totally different depending on the variation of the contingencies (sensitivity to initial conditions).
However, the infinitely complex "system" in which the individual evolves remains deterministic. It is based on mechanical causes, efficient causes, which cannot be modified. However, you might object that not all the personal motivations of a thinking being find their origin in this type of cause, despite the unimaginable pressures of his various conditionings. In reality, the sphere of the individual described as CONSCIOUS shows that the motivation of the human being also obeys an END.
Finality is the fruit of consciousness, which has "chosen" the orientation of its being within the multiple contingencies of the physical world that are "already" known to it. Therefore, "chance" exists only for the physical individual. As in a theodicy, certain incomprehensible events only acquire meaning at the "end" of an existence, through the understanding of one's "choice".
